Wayne State University has released its football schedule for the 2026 season, featuring 11 games. The Warriors will begin their campaign at home against Northwood on September 3, with a 6 p.m. kickoff at Tom Adams Field. Wayne State holds a narrow lead in the all-time series, having won 21 of the previous 41 meetings.
The following week, Wayne State will travel to play Hillsdale College. The two teams have met 58 times before, with Hillsdale holding a historical advantage. However, Wayne State has won five of the last seven matchups.
In week three, Wisconsin-La Crosse will visit Detroit for a game at Tom Adams Field. The Eagles have won both previous encounters between the schools.
Wayne State will wrap up its non-conference schedule with an away game at Quincy on September 26. Each team has one win in their two previous meetings.
The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) portion of the schedule begins October 3 when Wayne State visits Grand Valley State. The GLIAC lineup remains unchanged from recent years but features a different order of opponents this season.
On October 10, Roosevelt Lakers will play at Tom Adams Field during Homecoming and Hall of Fame weekend. Saginaw Valley State is scheduled to visit Detroit on October 17 for another night game.
Additional conference games include trips to Davenport and Michigan Tech and home contests against Northern Michigan and defending national champion Ferris State on November 7 for Senior Day.
For the second year in a row, Wayne State will end its regular season in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with a matchup against Michigan Tech.

Wayne State Warriors Men’s Football competes in NCAA Division II as part of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The team plays its home games in Detroit at Tom Adams Field and uses green and gold as its colors. In 2011, Wayne State finished as national runner-up in NCAA Division II football according to their official website.
