Wayne State signs Madi Treat for 2026-27 softball season

Wayne State University announced on Apr. 14 that Madi Treat has signed to join the Warriors women’s softball team for the 2026-27 academic year.

The addition of Treat is intended to strengthen the team’s roster as it prepares for future seasons in collegiate competition. Wayne State Warriors Women’s Softball participates at the NCAA Division II level, according to the official website.

Head coach Nicole Tines said, “Madi is a great fit to round out our 2026 recruiting class. She brings athleticism, versatility and speed to our lineup. We are very excited for what this incoming class is going to bring to our team. Madi possesses a great work ethic along with a lot of passion and energy which is infectious.”

Treat will graduate from St. Clair High School in Michigan in 2026 after earning multiple varsity letters in both softball and basketball. As a junior, she helped her high school team win the Macomb Area Conference White Division title and was named both an All-State First Team selection and conference MVP after batting .524 with nine doubles, four triples, eleven home runs, forty-one runs batted in, and forty-five runs scored.

The Wayne State Warriors Women’s Softball program holds membership in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference according to its official website. The program competes as a collegiate athletic program based in Detroit, Michigan.

Looking ahead, Wayne State will play ten of its final twelve conference games at home beginning with doubleheaders scheduled against Ferris State on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by Davenport on Sunday at noon.
