The Wayne State University women’s basketball team has been included in the initial NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings for the 2025-26 season. The announcement was made on February 18, with the Warriors holding an overall record of 18-6.
The Midwest Region is composed of teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), and Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). Conference tournament winners from each of the GLIAC, G-MAC, and GLVC will receive automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. Five additional teams will earn at-large selections, making a total of eight teams advancing from the region.
Wayne State joins four other GLIAC schools in these rankings: Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Michigan Tech, and Northern Michigan. Other schools recognized include Ashland, Malone, Northwood, Thomas More (all G-MAC), and Missouri-St. Louis (GLVC).
