The Wayne State University women’s swimming and diving team concluded its participation at the 2026 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships, finishing third among six teams. Head coach Sean Peters commented on the team’s performance: “The women finished third overall, which I believe was quite the accomplishment considering that in the polls for the majority of the season, we were unranked,” said Peters. “To finish third is truly an accomplishment and it was a total team effort. Congratulations to Elly (Belmore), Emma (Crispo) and Diana (Muccioli), as they have a possible opportunity to continue their seasons.”
Among individual results, Diana Muccioli placed second in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:11.76, meeting NCAA B cut standards. Other notable performances included Elly Belmore’s third-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:00.96), Emma Crispo’s third place in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.42), and Alicia Viaches’ third place in one-meter diving (416.20).
