City of Dearborn recently issued the following announcement.
Judging will take place Dec. 9-16
The holiday season is upon us and that means creative, vivid and festive decorations will be displayed on homes throughout the city.
The Dearborn City Beautiful Commission wants to recognize these decorations and displays during the annual “Dearborn Aglow” home decorating event. Commissioners will be scouring the city for the most impressive of these displays every evening from Monday, Dec. 9 to Monday, Dec. 16 from 6-10 p.m.
Residents can ensure commissioners give full consideration to their homes, or homes they feel are deserving of recognition, by submitting a nomination by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9. To nominate a house, please call 313-943-2415 or email citybeautiful@ci.dearborn.mi.us.
Commissioners will choose the best displays in each of their districts throughout the city, so be sure to turn on your holiday lights during every evening Dec. 9-16 to be considered.
This is also an excellent time for residents to travel through the city to view the beautiful and unique light displays exhibited by their neighbors.
Owners of selected homes with be honored at a ceremony in January and receive commemorative awards.
