Wayne State University has added four transfer pitchers to its baseball program. The team, known for producing the GLIAC Pitcher of the Year in four of the last five seasons, aims to strengthen its pitching staff under head coach Ryan Kelley. Kelley, who is starting his 17th season with a career record of 484-304-1, welcomed juniors Ethan Getting and Robert Klann, sophomore Nick Baker, and graduate student Miles Jamieson.

Karter Fitzpatrick was named GLIAC Pitcher of the Year in both 2023 and 2024. Ryan Korolden received the honor in 2022, while current Houston Astros starter Hunter Brown was recognized in 2019.

Ethan Getting joins from Purdue Northwest. In 2024, he had a 3.94 ERA over 16 innings with 23 strikeouts. He limited opposing batters to a .200 average and made two starts among his twelve appearances.

Robert Klann transferred from Michigan State University where he earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades in 2024. He made four relief appearances for Michigan State this year.

Nick Baker did not play in any games for Lansing Community College in 2024 but pitched in twelve games with eight starts in 2023. He compiled a record of five wins without losses and one save over thirty-seven innings.

Miles Jamieson joined as a graduate student from Davidson College but only made one appearance before suffering a season-ending injury this year. In previous years at Davidson and Mid Michigan College, he showed promise on the mound.

The new additions are expected to bolster Wayne State's pitching lineup as they prepare for upcoming seasons under Kelley's leadership.
