Wayne State women’s golf completes first round at NCAA East Regional

The Wayne State University women's golf team concluded the first round of the NCAA East Regional at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana, sitting in 15th place. The team is competing in a field of 81 golfers.

Beca Vestman from Madrid, Spain, leads the Warriors individually and is tied for 44th place after scoring an 81 (+9). Other members of the team include Sabel Imesch from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, who is tied for 62nd with a score of 85 (+13), Clarita Laffitte from Montevideo, Uruguay, tied for 71st with an 88 (+16), Orianna Bylsma from Montague, Michigan, in 76th place with a score of 93 (+21), and Logan Potts from Norton Shores, Michigan, tied for 77th with a score of 95 (+23).

The start times for Tuesday's round are as follows: Potts at 8:39 a.m., Bylsma at 8:48 a.m., Laffitte at 8:57 a.m., Imesch at 9:06 a.m., and Vestman at 9:15 a.m.

In the team standings after day one, Findlay leads with a total score of 299 (+11), followed closely by UIndy with a score of 300 (+12). Ashland stands third with a score of 308 (+20). Wayne State finished the day with a cumulative score of 347 (+59).
