The Wayne State University baseball team had 20 student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements during the 2024-25 season. These athletes were awarded Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic accolades, with 16 being named to the All-Academic Excellence Team. This marks a new record for the team, surpassing the previous high of 15 set in the 2020-21 season.
The eligibility criteria require that student-athletes must be active members of the roster at season's end and not freshmen or first-year transfer students. The grade-point averages are calculated through the winter semester.
Among those named to the All-Academic Excellence Team, which requires a cumulative GPA between 3.5 and 4.0, were Brady Blakita, Jacoby Dale, Drew Dawson, Will DeMasse, Tony Hatzigeorgiou, Bennett Hitzelberger, Evan Langlois, TJ McAllister, Mason McGuire, Macio Miller, Gabe Nazelli, Reagan Paulina, Coy Plummer, Keegan Pulford-Thorpe, Owen Tuccinardi, and Gabe Zeldes.
Those recognized on the All-Academic Team with GPAs ranging from 3.0 to 3.49 included Drew Hill, Gavin Nash, Logan Van Sicklen, and Zach Warner.
In addition to these honors, several players received further distinctions. "Dale," "Hitzelberger," "Nazelli," "McGuire," and "Paulina all earned CSC Academic All-District accolades." Furthermore, "McGuire garnered a GLIAC Commissioner's Award and was voted Second Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA)."
