Kyle Hill, a former standout pitcher for the Wayne State Warriors baseball team, will be inducted into the Wayne State Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, October 3 at The Eastern. Tickets for the banquet are available online.

Hill played four seasons with the Warriors from 2004 to 2007, contributing to 105 overall wins and 68 conference victories during his collegiate career. In 2005, he was named First Team All-GLIAC and earned ABCA/Rawling All-Region First Team honors. That same year, Hill helped lead Wayne State to its first GLIAC regular-season title and NCAA tournament appearance.

He received Second Team All-GLIAC recognition in both 2004 and 2007 and was chosen as WSU's Top Pitcher in 2004 and 2005. In his senior year, he shared this honor with teammate Anthony Bass.

Hill matched the school record with 24 career wins—a mark that stood for 17 years—and led or tied for the team lead in wins during each of his first three seasons. As a senior, he ranked third in the GLIAC with a 2.52 ERA.

His performance in single-season records included tying for fifth place with 13 starts in 2005 and tying for third with nine victories that same season. He also recorded eight complete games as a senior, tying him for fifth on the program’s list.

Upon graduation, Hill held the top two single-season strikeout-to-walk ratios in program history and still maintains the career ratio record at 3.60 (173 strikeouts to 48 walks). His program record of 45 career starts lasted for 17 years; his total of 20 complete games remains tied-for-second all-time at WSU. He finished second in career innings pitched with a total of 271.1.

A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Hill threw a complete-game no-hitter against Mercyhurst to secure his first collegiate win.

Off the field, Hill was recognized three times on the GLIAC All-Academic Team and completed both his bachelor's degree in English (2008) and master's degree in Teaching Secondary Education (2010). He appeared on the Academic Honor Roll every semester of his college tenure, including five terms on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for maintaining a GPA above 3.5.
