Wayne State men’s cross country finishes ninth at NCAA Midwest Regional

The Wayne State University men's cross country team finished ninth at the NCAA Midwest Regional, held on November 8, 2025, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The team scored 283 points in a field that included competitors from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

Jared Platt led Wayne State with a time of 31:25.40, earning him a 21st-place finish and All-Region honors. Other top performers for Wayne State included Glen Davis, who finished 29th with a time of 31:33.80, and Sean Pettis, who placed 37th at 31:47.70.

Additional results for Wayne State runners were Ty Nagy in 96th place (32:53.80), Andrew Yax in 100th place (32:55.80), Gabe Trevino in 123rd place (33:33.50), and Ethan Pruzinsky with a time of 33:36.10.

Grand Valley State won the event with a score of 44 points, followed by Saginaw Valley State with 52 points and Lewis University with 120 points.

The Wayne State men's cross country team will now wait to see if they receive an at-large selection to compete at the NCAA Championships scheduled for November 22.
