A Metro Detroit teacher has been accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a minor student.
According to Detroit CBS, Jason William Dean, who is 36 years old, was arrested after being accused of sexual misconduct with a former student of his. The student was 14 years old when the alleged relationship took place in 2010, during which time the student was in the eighth grade.
Dean was teaching at Cedar Crest Academy in Springfield Township. He is now facing three counts of criminal sexual conduct.
According to Patch, Dean is in custody at the Oakland County Jail with a $50,000 bond.
The officials in charge of the investigation allege that the affair took place on school property at school events, as well as in other locations.
Dean was a soccer and basketball coach at Cedar Crest Academy. He now is a teacher at Northville High School as well as a soccer coach for minors in the southeast part of the state.
