Wayne State University softball program recognized 10 student-athletes on the GLIAC All-Academic Team for the 2024 season. This marks the 11th consecutive year that at least 10 Warriors have received All-Academic accolades. The eight All-Academic Excellence honorees bring the total number of Excellence Team certificates to 69 over the past seven years. Wayne State has had a total of 130 GLIAC All-Academic honorees in the last 11 years.
The criteria for selection require that student-athletes be active members on the roster at the end of the season and not be freshmen or first-year transfer students.
All-Academic Excellence Team selections, which require a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.5, include:
- Alexis Bonk, Sr., New Hudson, Mich./South Lyon, Psychology, GPA: 3.76 (third straight season)
- Sasha Buckberger, So., Oakville, Ont./White Oaks S.S., Civil Engineering, GPA: 3.96 (first-year eligible)
- Becky Hodder, Gr., Orangeville, Ont./Orangeville District S.S., Exercise & Sport Science (master's), GPA: 3.80 (fourth straight season)
- Rylie Josephson, Jr., West Bloomfield, Mich./Walled Lake Central, Nursing, GPA: 3.61 (second straight season)
- Kiley Lewandowski, Sr., Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln, Political Science, GPA: 3.95 (first-year eligible after transferring in fall of 2022)
- Shelby Miller, Sr., Georgetown, Ont./Christ the King Catholic S.S., Marketing, GPA: 3.77 (third straight season)
- Jessie O'Donnell R-Jr., Campbellville Ont./Christ the King Catholic S.S., Sport Management GPA: 3.50 second straight season
- Mady Ruczynski Jr Richmond Mich/Armada Mechanical Engineering GPA:367 second straight season
All-Academic Team selections with a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 include:
